Tommy James, the music legend responsible for the hits “Crimson & Clover,” “Crystal Blue Persuation,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Hanky Panky,” “Sweet Cherry Wine,” and “Mony Mony,”  has announced an agreement with The Orchard to launch the Tommy James and the Shondells official YouTube channel, available at http://www.youtube.com/TJShondells.

The new YouTube channel is going to give my fans a look at my life off stage,” said James. “I am looking forward to bringing cameras backstage and into my home to capture me in my element.

The three-year agreement will see The Orchard managing the advertising sales and content consultation for the channel. James will soon begin production on a weekly web series where he discusses the formation of some of his greatest hits, conducts interviews and gives fans an inside look at his life. James will also release rare and never before seen videos.

Tommy James has 23 gold singles, nine platinum albums and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. In addition to his 32 Billboard Hot 100 Charting hits. At the beginning of 2013, BMI lauded him for his success with the presentation of five Million-Air Awards. To date, his music has played more than 21 million times over the air, and the international popularity has led to a global distribution deal with Allegro.

In partnership with Allegro, James will release his FIRST VINYL RECORD in more than 20 years this fall. The limited collectors edition of his 2010 holiday album, “I LOVE CHRISTMAS,” features the original Shondells reunited on the title track.

In 2010, James penned the bestselling autobiography, “ME, THE MOB AND THE MUSIC.” The book, which ROLLING STONE ranked among “THE 25 GREATEST ROCK MEMOIRS OF ALL TIME,” tells the story of his tumultuous relationship with Morris Levy, the head of Roulette Records, a ‘front’ for the GENOVESE CRIME FAMILY in New York. It also provides a unique perspective on the history of rock and roll music. The memoir has earned James high praise from critics and industry insiders and will be a major motion picture, produced by BARBARA DE FINA, who also produced “GOOD FELLAS,” “CASINO” and “CAPE FEAR.”

Tommy James’ career has spanned nearly 50 years, and it continues to evolve, always accompanied by music that is timeless. For more information: tommyjames.com, Facebook.com/TJandtheShondells or follow him on Twitter at twitter.com/TJShondells.
